A-lehdet needed to modernise its media sales and advertising management system.
At the outset, A-lehdet was using a system that combined CRM, ad trafficking, material management and integrations with external partners for functions such as invoicing and accounting. However, the system was too cumbersome and inflexible to meet the day-to-day needs of its dozens of users.
For the project, TaikaTilaus joined forces with PunaMusta, which is responsible for layout and printing services, to create a seamless solution. The final project plan was prepared in close three-way collaboration between A-lehdet, TaikaTilaus and PunaMusta.
The project was carried out in close collaboration with A-lehdet and PunaMusta. The shared focus and objectives were refined through several meetings and a separate specification phase to establish a clear direction for the upcoming project. Progress was monitored in weekly project group meetings, where emerging issues and revised requirements were discussed. Day-to-day collaboration between the various parties was coordinated through Teams channels.
As the project progressed, the details of the different processes and required functionalities became clearer, and the necessary changes were implemented. The new system went live in autumn 2025.
“Collaboration with TaikaTilaus has gone well, and the result is a functional advertising management solution.”
- Korppu Korpinen, A-Lehdet, Head of Digital Sales
The processes of media sales, production and financial administration had different requirements, all of which needed to work together seamlessly. During the project, the needs of these groups were defined, along with the constraints arising from their differing requirements that had to be considered when implementing the overall solution.
For media sales, the optimal solution was a CRM system centred around customer relationships, allowing salespeople to work flexibly without needing to know exactly what happens behind the scenes after a sale is made or amended.
Production needed an ERP system for ad trafficking and material management so that advertisements could be laid out and published as sold, whether in digital channels, social media or print, at the selected time.
Financial administration needed invoicing, accounting and reporting to work correctly and on schedule, even when the contents or schedules of sales changed.
TaikaTilaus provided A-lehdet with an ERP system designed for the media industry. Its central role is to manage integrations between sales, production and finance. TaikaTilaus manages the availability of advertising products, creates invoicing and accounting data from sales, and forwards advertising materials to the correct publishing channels. The solution allows advertising bookings, materials and invoicing data to move smoothly between systems.
The features and changes required by A-lehdet were implemented on top of TaikaTilaus’s existing advertising management system. The collaboration also resulted in new features for the TaikaTilaus system, including improvements to the ad trafficking interface and a Google Ad Manager integration, which complemented TaikaTilaus’s existing advertising management solution.
As a result, users can work with systems that make their work more efficient, support their tasks and can be developed flexibly. In the background, TaikaTilaus’s ERP operates as an invisible, headless system that connects the different systems without requiring users to see the processes taking place behind the scenes.
Korppu Korpinen, Head of Digital Sales at A-lehdet, who was actively involved in the project’s implementation, commented on the result:
“As a result of the project, we now have a well-functioning advertising management system that meets our objectives and responds to our future needs for the efficient management of multichannel media materials.”
During the development project, it was possible to change direction when necessary. Since the system was introduced, additional functionalities have been developed, including a self-service channel to support sales. In the future, new integrations can also be developed rapidly for TaikaTilaus, for example to support digital advertisements published through AI chatbots.
“Going forward, we will continue developing our current overall solution together with TaikaTilaus so that it can respond even better to the needs of our media customers in a changing market and an evolving media landscape,” Korpinen says.
