TaikaTilaus continues to evolve! Our new user interface brings a modern, faster experience to the familiar subscription and advertising management system.

The aim of the update is to make everyday work easier and more efficient. Enhanced search and reporting features help users make better use of customer and subscription data, while new AI-powered solutions open up opportunities for data analysis.

Best of all, the update does not require a separate migration project. The existing and new interfaces work side by side, allowing our customers to adopt the new interface at their own pace.

A new user interface for smoother everyday work

TaikaTilaus's new browser-based interface makes everyday tasks faster and easier. Its modern, responsive design improves usability and helps users find customer and subscription information more efficiently.

The redesigned dashboard provides an at-a-glance overview of key business figures, including the number of active subscribers, new subscriptions and invoicing status. Users can customise the dashboard to display the information most relevant to their work.

Managing customer and subscription information is also more convenient. Subscriptions and invoices can be previewed directly from list views, eliminating the need to open a separate page every time you want to check a detail. The new interface also supports working across multiple browser tabs, making it easier to manage different customers and subscriptions simultaneously.

Find the information you need faster

One of the most significant improvements in the new interface is its enhanced search functionality, which makes managing subscriber records and customer information easier.

Searches are fast, with results updating instantly. Users can rearrange list columns to suit their needs and apply advanced search filters to narrow down results.

Frequently used searches can also be saved for later. For example, users can quickly retrieve expiring subscriptions for a particular publication or customers belonging to a specific group without having to recreate the search each time.

The new collection list makes it easier to work with customer information across different searches. Users can collect customers from multiple search results into a single list for customer service follow-ups, marketing activities or Excel exports. These collected customers can also be used to create new customer segments.

Enhanced reporting provides greater insight into your business

Reliable, accessible data is essential for informed business decisions. That is why reporting has been one of the main priorities of the TaikaTilaus interface update.

The new interface includes both familiar reports upgraded to modern technology and entirely new reports. These provide insights into subscription trends, invoicing and customer data. Reports previously developed for individual customers are also being made more widely available to all TaikaTilaus users.

The new reporting features include:

  • Interactive charts: Visualise report data and customise chart metrics and presentation formats.
  • Favourite reports: Mark frequently used reports as favourites for quick access.
  • Saved reports: Customise report filters and save them for personal use or share them across your organisation.
  • Report archiving: Save report data at a specific point in time to review historical information and compare changes over time.

New subscription, advertising and invoice summaries also provide a quick overview of business performance. Customers identified through reports can be added directly to the collection list for further action.

A gradual transition to the new interface

Although the TaikaTilaus interface is undergoing a significant redesign, the underlying system and all existing data remain unchanged.

Both interfaces use the same database, meaning there is no need to migrate customer, subscription or invoice information. Users can work in either interface, and any changes made are immediately reflected in both.

We are introducing the new interface gradually. Before wider adoption, we are ensuring that reports function correctly and that all data is accurate.

Once the new interface becomes available, customers can explore its features and gradually incorporate it into their daily workflows. Users will eventually be able to select the new interface as their default view when logging in.

The new interface will ultimately replace the existing one. However, the old interface will remain available throughout the transition period, and we will communicate its retirement schedule at a later date.

AI opens up new possibilities for TaikaTilaus

Alongside the redesigned interface, we are developing new ways to use artificial intelligence within TaikaTilaus.

Our approach to AI development is gradual, with a focus on simplifying everyday tasks and creating new opportunities to analyse customer and subscription information.

Our AI development roadmap consists of three levels.

1. An AI chatbot to help users navigate TaikaTilaus

The first step is a new AI-powered support chatbot designed to assist users with everyday tasks.

Users can ask questions about TaikaTilaus features and functionality. The chatbot searches the TaikaTilaus support documentation for answers and provides a link to the original instructions.

The aim is to help users find the information they need as quickly as possible, without having to search through support articles or contact the TaikaTilaus support team.

2. Ask AI questions about your customer and subscription data

The next level involves using AI to access and analyse information directly from the TaikaTilaus database. Instead of manually creating a search or generating a report, users will be able to ask the chatbot questions such as:

  • How many active subscriptions do we currently have?
  • Which subscriptions are due to expire next week?
  • How has our subscription volume changed over time?

AI can retrieve relevant information from the system and present the results in an easy-to-understand format. This creates new opportunities for users who need quick answers to business-related questions without manually building searches or reports.

3. Analyse TaikaTilaus data in ChatGPT or Claude using an MCP server

The third level enables customer and subscription data from TaikaTilaus to be accessed through external AI services such as ChatGPT and Claude. The connection is established using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), a standard that enables AI applications to interact with external systems.

The TaikaTilaus MCP server provides controlled data retrieval functions, allowing users to generate reports and analyses simply by asking questions through their preferred AI service. This makes it possible to perform more advanced reporting and analysis using conversational AI.

At this stage, AI agents are only able to read information from TaikaTilaus. They cannot modify data within the system.

Data security and AI features

Data security is a key consideration in the development of TaikaTilaus's AI capabilities.

The first-level support chatbot operates through TaikaTilaus's own AI service account. It retrieves information exclusively from TaikaTilaus support documentation and does not have access to media companies' customer or subscription databases.

The second- and third-level AI features may involve processing customer and subscription information belonging to a media company.

For these use cases, we recommend that media companies use their own AI service accounts designed for organisational use. This allows each organisation to manage the privacy and data retention settings offered by its AI service provider.

Access to information through the TaikaTilaus MCP connection is also restricted according to separately defined access permissions.

Other recent TaikaTilaus updates

In addition to the new interface and AI features, we have introduced several other improvements to TaikaTilaus.

Monitor Stripe transactions directly in TaikaTilaus

A new feature called Stripe Gateway allows users to view Stripe payment transactions and related subscription information directly within TaikaTilaus, without having to log in to Stripe separately.

Stripe Gateway also makes it easier to identify and resolve discrepancies between Stripe and TaikaTilaus.

For example, if a payment has been successfully processed in Stripe but the corresponding subscription has not been created in TaikaTilaus, the issue can be investigated and resolved directly through the Gateway.

Parquet exports enable more advanced data analysis

Our new Parquet export solution makes it possible to automatically export TaikaTilaus database information every night, for example to a customer's own cloud environment.

The exported data can then be used in the organisation's own analytics platforms and AI solutions, creating new opportunities for more advanced reporting and data analysis.

Managing transparency notices for political advertising

TaikaTilaus now includes a feature designed to help media companies comply with the EU's political advertising transparency requirements (TTPA).

Users can send advertisers a link directly from an advertising booking, allowing them to complete the required transparency notice. Once the notice has been submitted, the system automatically generates a QR code that can be included in the advertisement.

Completed transparency notices are stored in a register maintained by TaikaTilaus, making it easier to collect, manage and access the required information. This allows publishers to manage transparency notices and QR codes as part of their existing advertising sales workflows.

Developing TaikaTilaus together with our customers

We continuously develop TaikaTilaus based on the needs and feedback of our customers. Our aim is to provide media companies with practical tools that simplify subscription and advertising management, improve access to business information and support more efficient everyday operations.
